Tigger came to me in January of 1988 from a no-kill shelter in San Diego. He was about a year old at the time. Kanga was given to me in August of 1989. She was one of those free kittens from the neighbor. As a team they have been part of my life for 15 years! They are truly my kids.

I had moved into a one bedroom apartment in San Diego with Tigger. He was so cooped up - but safe from coyotes! Kanga might be 6 or 7 months old in this photo. They took to each other so well. I will always think of them like this.

Golden Years (2003)

Tigger has suffered later in life with repeated "bouts" of diabetes. Kanga was diagnosed with lymphocytic lymphoma. This picture in the spring of 2003 shows Tigger taking care of Kanga when she wasn't feeling well.

I took this photo of my girl shortly after her surgical diagnosis for cancer. She has been the absolute light of my life. She has been so brave and as of June 2004 has surpassed the life expectancy curves by many months.

This incredible soul has truly taught me the meaning of love. She and I are one.

Here are my kids in their new house in North Carolina. They made it through 4 or 5 moves all the way across country with me.  They have both been pretty sick over the past 2 or 3 years. I am forever grateful that they have made this final journey with me.
